Charles Garbarino, author of "Pediatrician Soldier", fulfilled his lifelong dream by becoming a pediatrician and helping children. His signature - clown nose, twirly hat and lollipops - earned him the affectionate nickname of 'Dr. Charlie' .
His life adventures continued when he became an Army medical officer and with compassion cared for the soldiers and their children.
COL Garbarino has been a member of our armed forces for over twenty years and was the first New Jersey Army National Guard physician deployed for Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF).
Dr. Charlie is a Board Certified Pediatrician in New Jersey and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, COL Garbarino is the Medical Director for the New Jersey Army National Guard Medical Hold Detachment.
Charles lives with his wife Lydia in New Jersey.
Col Garbarino will be deploying shortly in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) and will become a member of Task Force Phoenix.
